Worship in September

As we dive into the mess of life and faith, join us for worship at 10 a.m. each Sunday as we pray, sing, listen and learn with and through the following texts.

It is Labor Day weekend but how do we take time to rest from our labors when there is always so much to be done? How do we navigate the mess of our homes, our schedules and the world?
Scripture: Mark 2:23-28

Remember the story of the Good Samaritan? What made him good? Why do we celebrate him and not the priest or even the victim? We will learn from this and other examples why we shouldn’t fear the messes we encounter.
Scripture: Luke 10:25-37
We will hear of one disciples love literally poured out for Jesus making a beautiful sacred mess that is remembered and honored. Maybe love isn’t supposed to be clean and organized, maybe the very essence of love and intimacy with God, partners, friends, family needs us to step into the mess.
September 24: Under Construction
This fall the church will be under construction (new floors, new boiler!) but so are we. Construction zones are dangerous and messy and yet if we don’t do the work on the building, on our hearts, on our relationships, on our lives, there will never be any improvements.

 Worship in August
Below are the Sermons from our series on the enneagram.

The Ennea-what?” “The enneagram.” The enneagram is an ancient personality typing system. It invites a kind of self-discovery that will strengthen us individually but we will not end with ourselves. As we move through the nine numbers we will come to understand other people’s motivations, what challenges they face, and what gifts they bring. Through this process we will come to understand each other on a deeper level, allowing us to cultivate kindness through understanding and ultimately seeing God in new and profound ways. At its core we will be exploring the enneagram as a way to love self, love neighbor, love God. I hope you will join us on this journey or, as one book describes it, on “the road back to you.”
