Meet the Kirk
The Kirk of Bonnie Brae was founded as a Congregational Church in the Bonnie Brae Neighborhood. The name Kirk is the Scottish word for Church, fitting for the neighborhood whose name also has Scottish origin (Bonnie Brae means beautiful hill).
The Kirk was founded in 1947 and is affiliated with the United Church of Christ (UCC), a main-line Protestant denomination. The Kirk is a theologically progressive church.
We are self-governing and committed to working together to growing in faith and in relationship to God, each other, our neighbors and the earth. Our status as an Open and Affirming Congregation as well as a Green Justice Congregation is a reflection both of who we are and who we are striving to be.
